Warlord's Baby

What to expect when you’re expecting an alien’s baby... Mercy has been pregnant for-freaking-ever. She’s tired and grumpy and ready to get this kid out of her. Of course, being adored by her alien warlord husband is awesome but she hasn’t seen her feet in a month. And she can’t get over this sneaking suspicion that there’s something Paax isn’t telling her... Just as M What to expect when you’re expecting an alien’s baby... She is emotional and edgy. Ready for her son to be born. Sounds familiar to anyone who has ever been pregnant right. Well what Mercy doesn't know may kill her and to find her husband conspired with nearly everyone to keep it from her may ruin her happiness with her husband. When she finds out the big secret Mercy begins to wonder if her husband sees her more as a pet or a wife on equal footing with him. She is tired of his unilateral decisions and failure to discuss things that impacts their lives. Paax does not understand the human female he adores and would lay his life down for. At an impasse they must struggle to come to an understanding. Then danger awaits them that may cost them all of them their lives. This may be a novella, but it packs quite a wallop. Filled with suspense, danger, romance, everything to make your heart go pitter patter. We finally see a healing of the conflict between Mylomon and Mercy. This is a series that continues to grow and expand with each new offering. I look forward to reading more of this series. I skipped a few because I wanted to read more of Paax and Mercy, but found I had no problems keeping up and understanding what was going on; save the part of what in the world is going on with Vox and his mate on Earth. I see I will need to go back and read their story. The lack of knowledge truly had little impact on the story as a whole. It just raised my curiosity to find out what happened as a sidebar. My rating of "Warlord's Baby - Warlord Brides - Warriors of Sangrin Book 5" is 4.75 out of 5 stars. Amazon Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B074FXR6DH/... There is also some violent sword fights with stabbings and a beheading. The book is well written, and flows naturally. For some reason, though, I had some trouble feeling any thing but indifference for the main characters. I like erotic romances and this book is mainly about babies, so if not for the arc, I would not have chosen to read it. There was finally a battle with the Suhlik🐉, but it was about 75% of the way through the book. There were a few typos, mainly left out words. YEHAW! Ride em Bareback🍌, Cowgirl!🐎🐎🐎🐎

I have not read the previous book in this series (my bad, I own it), but I had no problem keeping up with the action. Mercy is pregnant and people are keeping secrets from her. She is carrying an alien’s baby, and on top of that it is the warlord’s baby, so she is closely monitored. It is starting to drive her crazy and she sure hopes the little purple munchkin hurries the heck up and makes his appearance. Paax is worried about his mate’s pregnancy. He watched his mother lose child after child, and many of them were twins like he and his brother had been. He is not telling her that she is carrying twins, hoping this will keep her calmer and not asking for things like statistics on multiple births (which are not good ones). Meanwhile his troops are growing restless with inactivity. This gives some of them time to think of things like, “I would make a much better Warlord.” He knows he is going to have to allow some challenges, but he decides to do it on his time table. Unfortunately this time table clashes with his sons’ time table for entering the world. Mama is not going to be happy with any of them. I read an ARC of this book. My review is voluntary.

I am enjoying this series, it's written well and the romance is often sweet and passionate, which I love in my reading. After Mercy had the babies, Kalen went to great pains and very directly demanded that Paax make sure she rests to allow her body to heal. Bed rest for the next few days was one of the first things he insisted on. (Which logically is absolutely vital after a c section). Then Paax gets his nickers in a twist and abandons Mercy for an entire week, leaving her to deal with twin babies, on her own, hours after she's had a major operation.... I don't understand it. This man is almost OCD with her safety, going as far as lying to her for months on Kalen's recommendation, and then he abandons her in exact contradiction to the Healers words. I get he apologized but really it was very little very late. (hide spoiler)]

I loved revisiting Paax and Mercy as they await the birth of their baby. Things are not all sunshine and roses for them though as many things keep getting in the way. A Warlord's job is never done. Paax must juggle keeping control of the clan with the needs of his mate, which proves to be hard at times. Mercy tries to understand but she still needs her husband by her side. If you haven't read any of the books in this series yet I suggest you read the first book at least before reading this one so you can get to know Paax and Mercy better. I'm ready to read more of this series and these characters. I was gifted an ARC for an honest review.

This was a lot different then the others and a conclusion to the first book. I suggest reading Paxx first so you can see how this couple stated and how they have gotten to where they are. Paxx and Mercy become parents in this one and it wasn't easy. Not only because they are new parents but also because of secrets that were kept. I loved seeing a few of my favorites from the other books but you know that book centers around this amazing couple and really shows how life can be. Warriors of Sangrin (5) Mercy is now very pregnant. She is also very tired, very fed up, so does what pregnant women always do, takes it out on her husband, well it is all his fault. Paax didn't know what to do, men, useless. So he leaves her alone to rest, apart from her guards, fusses, don't do this, don't do that, oops, wrong. It was fun to re-visit Macy, Paax, and the rest of the Warriors of Sangrin. Add a very pregnant Macy, new baby, and a clueless mate and you get a great book. It made me laugh and groan. I received a free copy and I liked the story. Plus I liked visiting others from previous books and a few battle scenes.

This story is full of tongue-in-cheek humor and downright alien stupidness. Talk about cultural differences, to say it puts a damper on their marriage, oh and add in the whole warlord gig, yea! I thought this one was a great follow up to the first story. I received an ARC of this story and have chose to voluntarily review it here.

The gift of two There was a lot more to their story then you realize. I was a little disappointed at all the secrets Paax kept from Mercy to protect her and their sons. Throughout the stories think their relationship is the strongest. Yet it took the birth of their sons and the challenges to unseat the Warlord for their relationship to truly click into place.

Good book. We get to see inside Paax and Mercy’s relationship a year later and learn that it is not all perfect. Really liked how the series is moved forward in this book with the challenges and battles.
