Slashed on the neck, Darlie Routier swore that an intruder invaded her home in an upscale community outside of Dallas on June 6, 1996, killed her two young sons, attacked her, then fled through the garage while her husband and infant son slept upstairs. But overwhelming evidence soon convinced police that it was Darlie who had committed the heinous crime. Good, shocking story, engaging right through the trial--which is difficult to pull off--but an astonishing amount of typos, especially for a traditionally published book. Where was the proof reader?

This was a crime that happened when I was 4 years old, which is a little younger than the two boys who were killed. My mom clearly remembered this case because she couldn't imagine hurting my older brother or me since we were so young. I wanted to learn more so I picked up this book from the library to learn more. This is indeed a shocking news story and I can't believe the behavior of this mother. Thank goodness the 8 month old son slept with his father.

This book definitely wasn't terribly well-written (good lord the typos! augh!), but it was a fascinating true crime case. In the past I think I've read another book about the Darlie Routier case, but I learned new stuff about the killing and trial in this one.

I don't usually read true crime books but this was passed on to me so decided to read it. It's crazy to think a mother could do this to her own kids. I really liked that the author involved family members in this novel.

This was a very interesting read. I really appreciated the background that the author put into the family not just Darlie. It's a sad read but a good book.
