3.5 sexy stars. This was a quick, hot read. Tough alpha, wants to be in charge Damian is obsessed with oh, so not suitable for him, Angie. She is a hairdresser, looks like a Goth. He is a business man, dresses in bespoke suits. Worked out fine for a Sunday afternoon read. Most of the books I have read by Lynda Chance are usually 3 or 4 stars, sex is hot and men a little OTT at times.

3.5 Stars. I enjoyed the story and the dynamic between Angie and Damian. This is a short read but the story to me flowed just fine. Damian is definitely a crazy possessive and obsessed hot alpha male when it comes to Angie. At first he was a bit of a jerk with his shitty attitude and I wanted to slap him. It took a while but he grew on me. I liked Angie. She’s strong, independent and doesn't put up with Damian’s crap. This book doesn't have angst and drama. This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. 3.5 stars. So there were things I really liked about this one and things I really didn't. I loved how alpha he was but I just didn't truly believe in their connection. Because of her goth appearance he figured they could just mess around for a while and eventually he'd have to find a woman that was more suited to his business world. This is a man that seems pretty ruthless, it just didn't make sense that he would worry what other people thought. Once she changed back to her "normal " appearance 3.5 stars. Once she changed back to her "normal " appearance is when he finally started showing real emotions towards her. He was possessive before that but didn't actually show any real caring for her before that. It had a super sweet epilogue that bumped it up a star for me. No OW/OM drama at all which I also appreciated.

My first Lynda Chance book was totally beyond my expectations. It was a quick, easy, and enjoyable read. The storyline was interesting and it kept me turning the pages. I found myself getting into the groove of the story since I finished the first chapter, and ended up grinning from ear to ear at the end of the book. The main characters were very engaging, and there were also other interesting characters that I'd like to find out what's going to happen to them in the other books in this series. Damian Rule was a super possessive alpha hero! Yes, he was so hot! He was attracted to Angie since the first time he laid eyes on her. Though she was the opposite of the kind of woman whom he would marry, he kept coming back to the salon where Angie worked just to get another look at her, over and over again. He couldn't stop himself from wanting her. Angie was a goth-looking woman who always wore black and dark eye makeup. She knew that she was attracted to Damian as well so she tried to tell herself that he wasn't the right one for her. Every time they met, I could feel the sizzle building up between them and their sexual chemistry was so intense. And when both of them couldn't fight their feelings anymore, they had agreed to keep their relationship casual. As they got to know each other better, their feelings grew stronger and deeper. Well, I could tell there was nothing casual about what was happening between them! There were things I loved about this book... I loved that Angie was strong and smart. I loved that Damian was so possessive and that made him hot as hell! I loved that there was no unnecessary drama, no illogical misunderstanding, and no stupid miscommunication between the hero and heroine. These were all great! Rule's Obsession is the wonderful combination of sexy, sweet, and fun. I loved it!!!

Lynda Chance is very hit or miss for me. Rule's Obsession was laughably bad. Every five minutes, there was fire shooting up and down spines, oxygen being dragged out of lungs, groans and moans galore, stomachs and other parts clenching and unclenching. It is really not a good sign when you want to laugh out loud at the supposedly erotic parts of the book. The funniest part of the whole book was when H gives a long winded and very cryptic speech to h about how he needs to be more in control in bed and wants her total submission, making h worry, like wth does he want to do to her? I was imagining hooks, clamps and ropes, but then we find out all he wanted to do was to get her on all fours and take her from behind. What???!!! That's what he was too embarrassed to articulate to her? LMAO. Not only did I not find any emotional connection between h and H ((view spoiler)[they start out as purely F buddies and then overnight, because H mistakenly thinks h is flirting with some other guy, and realizes he can't live without her, or at least, he can't bear seeing her in a room with another guy, he proposes. Nothing in between, from F buddies to marriage, no time for them to get to know each other, opening up to each other, there was not even any sign why they should like each other much less love each other. How could there be when they did not even spend any time outside the bedroom? This is just so underwhelming for me. (hide spoiler)] ), the h is a complete doormat and H has long ago left the boundary of dominant, Alpha male into Big Fat Jerk Territory. Having said all that, the book still would have probably gotten a "meh" 2 or 3 stars ratings if it wasn't for a passage near the end that randomly and out of the blue generalized gay men in such an offensive way ("too many of them are bisexual") and then the author had the h laugh it off and avoid even having a conversation with H about how offensive he is being because "Damian wouldn't get it. Not because he wasn't intelligent, but because he was so male." Not only does H not trust h to be alone in a room with a guy, whether he is gay, straight, married or single, he grudgingly tells her she could possibly be in a room with her father because he has to assume her father is not a "perverted fuck." What the hell???? It was so barftastic that I can't even.

3.5 rounded up to 4 stars! Oh I do love how Lynda Chance can write a possessive jealous ott alpha man! Not that I could ever put up with that type of man in real life, but still, I do love reading about it! Saying that though, this was not my favourite Lynda Chance book! The thing is, I felt almost detached from the couple! I enjoyed it yes, but I did not get drawn into the story and relationship as I had with other Lynda Chance books! I also wish it had not jumped ahead so much! They have the build up to a relationship, the first night together, then you turn the page, and it is a couple of months later! I wanted, needed that time. Maybe that is why I felt so detached from them as a couple! But, some brilliant side characters, such as Damien s mother, and I will certainly be picking up the next in the series! But, all in not my favourite.

Re-read 15/2/18- i was craving an ott Alpha of my liking with a decent plot and Lynda chance's Heroes are unbeatable!! Sadly its been a year since she last released a book so i had to scratch my itch with an oldie and re-read😅 Really hoping she releases 100 or so books like a cannon lol 🤣 the reason for my rating is that this book soothes my hunger for A ott jealous possessive hero. And that makes me love the book no matter what. ^.^

Ok this will be one of the weirdest things I'll write in a review. Its almost hard to type. But. Well. Damian Rule was almost too Alpha for me. Omg did I just say that? Let me explain. Everybody that knows me, knows that Alpha males are my crack reading addiction. The reasons are simple. Possessiveness is paramount. I crave a man that is like "You are mine and mine alone and I'd never share you.. I don't even want another man gay or straight in your space." (my alpha paraphrase) Bossy. I crave a man that is like "You are mine and mine alone and I'd never share you.. I don't even want another man gay or straight in your space." (my alpha paraphrase) Bossy. I love it when they say strip or bend over. Dominating. Like hold me down, clasp my arms over my head and make me baby. Love that. Protective. Stand in front of a bullet and lay down his life. Take charge over her problems making them go away. Here is the balancing factor that Damian lacked that put him a little to far over the alpha threshold. He wasn't caring enough. He had no sweet alpha edge enough. He had it at moments yes it took too long for him to release it. But the fact is I felt his emotion being held like a caged beast underneath this veneer of steel control. So even though I wanted more sweetened alpha I Could. Not. Stop..Reading. So yea still pretty much got a sexy high off this hit of crazy alpha goodness. If there had been a few scenes of Angie and Damian spending time together outside the bedroom.. Being together without the sexual mating dance they were always taking part it, this would have been an epic read. Lynda has a way of steeping the scenes in deep controlled emotion. That you feel like if the characters opened up and really spoke what they felt, you'd simply be blown away. I missed that here... Needed him to open up a little more. And show this wasn't all about sex. But hey that's the romantic in me. Still I really enjoyed this consuming read. Totally safe my safe zone junkies. Damian was gone for Angie from the first moment. Now I need a sweet alpha to balance the day. Sweet alpha hunting commencing.

4.5 Stars. I loved this !!! Damien is a business man who is sick of his mother trying to set him up with nice women so when he stumbles across the Gothic looking Angie at his hair salon he can't seem to stop thinking about her. He asks her to come to a dinner party at his mother's house to try and put a stop to her meddling ways but what he wasn't counting on was for his Mum to be less judgemental than than he is. Damian Rule goes to a salon because he is obsessed with one of the hairstylists, Angie. Then, lots of sex and some romance (I think). The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between -Quick read: it’s not that long, so you get through it rather quickly. The last book was recommended, and I’m anal retentive, so I had to read the whole series (and luckily, I had the second one on my kindle already). -OTT alpha-hole hero: Lynda Chance specializes in the OTT, pretty much irrational alpha heroes, and Damian Damian Rule goes to a salon because he is obsessed with one of the hairstylists, Angie. As a result, most readers I know either love or hate them. I’m stuck in the middle. I’ll admit I’m drawn to the possessive, all consuming love part, but not so much the controlling, insanely (almost insultingly) jealous, borderline stalkery bits. I was turned off by his dismissal of his relationship with her, and inability to verbalize his feelings, except to be crazy in his jealousy. There was no trust, only thoughts of possession and his driving need to keep her pinned down and passive during sex didn’t work for me. It wasn’t even about bondage, simply explained as “he couldn’t control himself if she touched him.” Which...yeah, not my thing. It mostly just made me side-eye him a whole lot. -About that love part: Damned if I know why either of them have feelings beyond the physical, even after reading the book. I really had a hard time nailing Angie down as a heroine. For the most part, she lets Damian do as he pleases because she’s just as crazy drawn to him as he is to her. She was essentially a cipher, a placeholder with little personality to differentiate her from any other character, except she was the one he was obsessed with. The Bottom Line It started off reasonably well and I wanted to like it, but the crazy jealousy was a turn off. I couldn’t recommend this one. But I’m soldiering on and reading the other books, since they’re already on my kindle.

Lynda Chance was the first author I had ever read that had heroes in her stories, who were so over the top crazy dominant alpha male possessive, that they made me shudder. I used to get every story she put out as soon as they hit Amazon, because I couldn't get enough of her alpha males. I'm not quite certain how I missed the last few of her books that have come out. I think I'm overwhelmed with all the fantastic books out right now, and somehow I wasn't as diligent at following her as I should h Lynda Chance was the first author I had ever read that had heroes in her stories, who were so over the top crazy dominant alpha male possessive, that they made me shudder. I think I'm overwhelmed with all the fantastic books out right now, and somehow I wasn't as diligent at following her as I should have been. I came across Rule's Obsession the other day, and am I ever glad I did. It was a classic Lynda Chance story, with the yummiest alpha male I have read in a very long time. Damian Damian Rule is Chance's typical sexy domineering possessive alpha male. He's perfect in every way, in my humble opinion. He's the exact stereotype that had me devouring all her other books. This story starts out with Damian obsessing over a gorgeous beautician named Angie. Angie Angie loves to dress up in goth clothing, but isn't truly a goth for real, she just enjoys playing the part and the busy clientèle she draws in with her unique looks for that profession. In their first encounter, Damian is a total arrogant dick. He just wants to fuck her and get her out of his system. He tells Angie straight up that all he wants from her is “just to fuck her”. He's gorgeous and sexy, but he's not THAT gorgeous and sexy, so she shuts him down and walks away. Damian can't stop thinking about or stay away from Angie. She's under his skin, so he goes to her again, and when he does, he absolutely cannot keep his hands off from her. He takes Angie's breath away and melts away her resolve with his touch, his filthy words and the smoldering hungry look in his eyes, when he's staring at her. Angie caves and gives into his demanding nature, and when it happens, it is scorching hot. I loved this story. Damian completely sucked me in with his filthy talking, and the sex was Smokin' Hot. It's a very sweet story. I really liked both of the main characters, but all the secondary characters were charming as well. This story has no over the top drama, and it has a very sweet HEA. Rule's Obsession completed my perfect Friday night's entertainment!

"An alpha-male like no other" is definitely right. Damian Rule is one of the most infuriating alpha males I have read in a long time. He wants Angie Ross but he keeps telling us that she isn't right for him and isn't the kind of girl he would want for the long term. He is a jerk but I do understand where his mindset came from. He is a rich businessman and she is a gothic hairdresser. They come from two different worlds. What I didn't like was how he never apologised to Angie for treating her like "An alpha-male like no other" is definitely right. What I didn't like was how he never apologised to Angie for treating her like she was temporary or acknowledged he was a jerk in the beginning. Damian unfortunately crossed the line from "alpha" to just asshole. Although Damian acted very possessive towards Angie I didn't really feel a strong connection between them. I really hate the direction the author took with Angie too, making her (view spoiler)[go back to her "normal self" (dying her hair back dirty blonde, no gothic clothes etc.) to fit into Damian's lifestyle more. Sure, Angie said she did it just to see if Damian didn't want her just to try something "different" but I could not make sense of who she truly was after that. Did she like her hair and clothes the way they were before? Why didn't she go back to being herself once her "test" worked with Damian? I also really did not like how after she went "normal" Damian started to show his true feelings for her. I believe Angie should have noticed that and made a fuss about him not wanting her to ruin his image (hide spoiler)] . The writing itself was also a bit much and every interaction between Damien and Angie was over-described. I'm curious if this is Lynda Chance's writing style or just exclusive to this book. This is the first novel I have read by her. Unfortunately this books falls into my newly created bookshelf tag of "offensive". I have a tag for books that contain slut shaming and few other things I find intolerable in a novel but this takes the cake. Near the end of the novel, Angie is "caught" talking with another man, who turns out to be her client and a friend, and who is also gay. Damien then makes a statement about how she can't be alone with any man, ever. "Why?" she questioned. "Why?" he asked as if he hadn't heard her correctly. "Yes, why?" His fingers tightened in her scalp. "Because gay men have penises. They have balls." His voice hardened, "Too many of them are bisexual. Trust me, if any woman in the world could turn a gay man straight, it would be you, baby." Angie then tries to explain away his casual ignorance and generalisation of all gay men, by saying that his opinion came from a "heterosexual viewpoint" and Angie didn't even try to point out how offensive he was being because (in Angie's own words) "Damian wouldn't get it. Not because he wasn't intelligent, but because he was so male." He then keeps saying he doesn't want Angie alone with any man (yep, he definitely has the controlling alpha thing down) and she responds by saying even her father? And his response is "If I ever meet him, I'll have to trust him not to be a perverted fuck. But nobody else." Did anyone else throw up a little in their mouth? This was definitely short and OTT read. The H was the super obsessive, crazy jealous caveman type and completely 100% all about his h. This is the type of H that is okay in booklandia but if he stepped into the real world I would have kneed him so hard and this would have ended after the first chapter! I don't know what this says about me but I liked it anyways. Yes he was a complete jerk bordering on loco but I still soaked it all up!! Lol, must be my mood or something but this was a good read. 2 1/2 stars Ms. Chance has an engaging style and some great descriptions which definitely held my attention so it's not the actual writing I have a problem with. Unfortunately, I found myself questioning the lead characters choices and behaviors and growing increasingly frustrated as the story progressed. I didn't care for her transformation from interesting, sexy goth 2 1/2 stars Ms. Chance has an engaging style and some great descriptions which definitely held my attention so it's not the actual writing I have a problem with. Unfortunately, I found myself questioning the lead characters choices and behaviors and growing increasingly frustrated as the story progressed. First, I would have been more satisfied with this book if the heroine's goth aspect (view spoiler)[ didn't turn out to be a ruse. I didn't care for her transformation from interesting, sexy goth girl to sweet, hot girl-next-door blonde and how it suddenly became about her determining whether he liked the REAL her. I feel the onus was on him to prove that first since he kept going on and on about how inappropriate she was. This just seemed like an easy way to turn her into his ideal woman while unfortunately turning the heroine into someone who comes off as an indecisive poser. This story would have been far more interesting and meaningful to me if Damian realized that he wanted to make it official with the Angie we 'knew' right from the start. I had hoped that what was between them would transcend her appearance and doing it like bunnies on crack but (at least for me) it didn't. (hide spoiler)] What it comes down to is that I wanted to witness and believe in his internal transformation where this was concerned, not her external one. Second, I believe there is a fine line between being a hot, protective alpha and being an ignorant, controlling asshat. Damian crossed it for me when he had a huge jealous tantrum and later told Angie that she could never be alone with a gay man (view spoiler)[(after almost beating up a gay friend of hers who was just sitting and talking with her in private) (hide spoiler)] (or any man for that matter) ever. Here's a mind stunning (think cattle prod) taste of his logic: (view spoiler)[ "But, the thing is, I don't give a rat's ass if he's gay. Granted, the fact that he's gay is the only thing that saved him from going to the emergency room tonight, but as far as you're concerned, you can't be alone with him. Him or any other gay man. You got that?" "Why?" she questioned. "Why? he asked as if he hadn't heard her correctly. "Yes, why?" His fingers tightened in her scalp. "Because gay men have penises. They have balls." His voice hardened. "Too many of them are bisexual. Trust me, if any woman in the world could turn a gay man straight, it would be you, baby." (hide spoiler)] Okay, seriously? You have got to be kidding me. (If I dive into all the issues I have with this, I'll be writing for days.) Angie thinks about explaining it to him but: ...she knew it would go in one ear and out the other. Damian wouldn't get it. Not because he wasn't intelligent, but because he was so male. What?! Oh, that's why? And not because he's often a jealous, controlling, irrational douche? So male is not a good enough explanation as far I'm concerned for his twisted, idiotic logic here. And since he can't control his own jealousy and insecurity, she has to watch herself for the rest of her life when it comes to being alone with any male (with the exception of her father)? Come on. What these two choose to do in the bedroom is between them, but in the real world, a woman has to live, and without worrying her partner is going to constantly be going off like a rocket. Or putting innocent people in the hospital because he's incessantly worried and obsessing about who might have an interest in her lady bits. I think Ms. Chance has the talent to weave an interesting and compelling story, but I just couldn't get past the aspects I've noted above.

3 stars, very short, silly story, This is a short story from LC. Blink and it's over. There was no conflict in this romance, in fact the only thing that seemed to keep Damien and Angela apart was the same thing that brought them together, the big secret from his mother and their combustible passion for one another. Not that there was a lot of evidence for the latter. In any case once the confession of feelings was over so was the story.

Not my favorite Lynda Chance. If you like erotic romance then this would work for you. If you like an OTT hero with a likable heroine, this would work for you. I just need more story, and I didn't like that despite the H being OTT he kind of led the h along for awhile. At least that's how I took it. I like my Hs to be more decisive.

I love Lynda Chance she is one of those authors I know I can go to for a hot possessive hero and a great book. I liked this book but I will admit at the beginning when I saw the heroine was goth I wasn't sure how I would feel about this book(not that I have any issues with goth just that I wasn't sure how it would flush out) and I liked this book the goth part wasn't my favorite but on the other hand the heroine wasn't really goth she just dressed that way for more tips. I was really happy that I love Lynda Chance she is one of those authors I know I can go to for a hot possessive hero and a great book. I was really happy that her being "goth" wasn't one of the big issues in this book and that once we meet more of Angie we see the real her. Angie has worked for a while at the salon that Damian goes to and every time they see each other they both feel a pull towards one another but Angie is not Damian 's type, still Damian finds himself returning again and again to get a glimpse of Angie. One day Damian's regular stylist has to leave abruptly leaving Angie to cut Damian's hair. Neither can deny how they feel about one another but both are almost glad when the encounter is over. When Damian's mother tries to yet again set him up with a girl he thinks of as his sister Damian knows just what will throw his mother for a loop. When Damian asks Angie to be his date for his moms dinner party in exchange for money Angie knows this is her chance to help a friend in need. So even though Angie is uncomfortable she agrees. But this dinner date quickly starts to turn into something neither Damian or Angie are ready to deal with. After sometime apart Damian's well meaning mother steps in forcing Angie to once again go see Damian. But this time neither Angie nor Damian can deny the strong feelings they have. The more time Damian and Angie spend together the harder it is to keep their relationship causal and for each of them to not fall in love. Now Damian will have to decide if he is willing to follow his heart or what is expected of him, and Angie will have to decide if she can trust in Damian enough to give him her heart. Lynda Chance is an excellent author, she is one of those authors that I follow and read her books whenever I can because I know I can trust her, and I know I will love not only her books but her characters. But I do have to say that I wish Damian hadn't focused so much on Angie not fitting in as his ideal significant other and worrying that she wouldn't be accepted into his world because I wanted him to pound on his chest and say this is my woman and anyone who has a problem with it can.....(insert here). Especially with Mrs. Chance's heroes being do strong. I did love Damian and he was a great hero I think that surprised me more than anything. Angie was a great heroine who loved herself enough to know that if a man didn't love her for her she didn't want him. But I must say that I fell in love with Damian's mother. She was so sweet and kind and she was such a great addition to this book. I can't wait to see what happens in book 2, I figured out pretty quickly that Damian's brother would be book 2 and Mrs. Chance gives us more than enough to be excited about this next book in the series. I stupidly (yes I know better) read the beginning of the next book and now I am more excited to read book 2, but wishing I did't because the waiting will be harder now. And I have to say that even though there were some things that I wished were changed in this book I still loved Rule's Obsession like all of Mrs. Chances books.

Angie Ross was the exact opposite of Damian Rule, Damian was refined, worldly, and obsessed with Angie. Angie was a hairdresser who dressed like a goth chick. He shouldn't want her, but he does. When an opportunity arises to get Angie close, he takes it but is it enough? I liked the opposites attract angle but I did not warm up to Damian, he was a jerk. Even as they progressed in their relationship I felt like he was almost a bully. 3.5 Stars! That was.... The Hero was one of the most possessive and dominant Alphas, I have ever read! But seriously...he was a bit too much at times and because the author did not balance his characterization in a way that would make the reader "really" liked him despite his craziness! There was a moment like... He basically said something very callus to the heroine and it took me a long time to recover from it and like him "again" But, there was one thing that I will always approve! heroes "EYE 3.5 Stars! Yeah, Faithful and heroine only concentrated Hero is a winner for me! This is Linda's quality that I always admire and respect! I also liked what the hero did at the end! His declaration of love was so romantically done, i even shed a tear! That kind of convinced me that he did love her and redeemed his jerkish behaviour! Safe gang: safe book, Hero is totally possessed with the heroine, aka no OW at all. However, hero dated many women in the past, but it did not felt like he was "a typical manwhore" just a guy that dated a lot! Heroine was not a virgin (thank goodness!) and was sexually experienced before the Hero wich worked for me fine!
