This was cute, but I felt like it really needed to be a full-length novel rather than a short story. It seemed rushed and like it was missing a lot of the key ingredients that I enjoy in a romance, even an insta-love one. Don't get me wrong, I like some insta-love stories, but they really need a lot of details to make it feel like it's not just a passing fancy. As I said, it was cute, but I wanted more and unfortunately I'm sad to admit that the lack of more made this story mostly disappointing This was cute, but I felt like it really needed to be a full-length novel rather than a short story. You know the phrase "Never say never"? Have you ever found that the moment you write something off, it hits you with full force and you don't know which side (of the bed) is up? That's kind of what happens in this short, Christmas story. Emma is stunning. Blonde, deliciously curvy, with social talent and star-filled eyes. But as Matt (the gorgeous brother of outwardly, easy-going Jake) will so delicately point out, "a very sexy witch". Tricked into a weekend in the snowed-in Dutch Gorge with no electricity is workaholic Casey's worst nightmare. It is all up to Matt to turn it into a dream come true... even if he is one of the people Casey very vocally trashes. It may be past the holiday season, but this book novella made me smile in all the hot, sweet ways. Not explicit in any way, but not totally vanilla either, it is a romance story that I can get behind.

Almost gave it one star, but that would mean to me that it was teerible and really it wadnt all that terrible. But the timelines on these things always bothers me. Fred, the uncle was born in the thirties so that makes jake and matt what, in their late fifties by the time the story happens? That just comes cross pervy ole man sounding.

Less erotic than I expected from the title and cover, some cliches, but sweet.

This was an easy read, finished it in 1 day.. Romantic comedy, it was cute. Not my favorite book that I've ever read, but I did enjoy it. As I said before it is an easy quick read, you do find the characters in the book to be very personable and relatable so I did enjoy this book overall.

I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. This book was light and fun, but honestly felt a little lacking to me. To be fair, it's really hard to tell an entire, complete, and satisfying story in a novella. However, things just moved too fast for my taste. Also? What the heck was up with the sister? Was I supposed to like her? I understand sibling fights. I have three sisters. But a sister that you're actually supposed to enjoy and love like the main character does would not act the way she did. Then it was all brushed aside at the end with a simple "but my sister is great and I love her (and you, the reader, should too)." This may also be an accidental casualty to my problem with novellas.

Emma has just broken up with her recent boyfriend, whom she is supposed to spend Christmas with at a romantic getaway lodge in the Adirondacks. Not able to get a refund on the trip, she tricks her sister, Casey, who is in serious need of a vacation herself, into coming along! Casey is less than excited to spend Christmas in a snowy climate, but reluctantly agrees after having the thought of her little sister getting caught in a snowstorm and being very bad at directions. Upon finally arriving, at their destination, the girls meet brothers, Jake and Matt, whom are both quite sexy! Jake and Emma quickly hit it off and end up spending the first night together leaving Casey to stay with Matt in the cabin in the woods! I enjoyed this book very much, it's a quick lite read that will get you in the Holiday spirit! Do recommend!

Received book for free through Goodreads Giveaways- thank you Joy! With relatable sisterly rivalries and sibling bickering, Christmas Unplugged is an enjoyable short story, lovingly proving that polar opposites and differences of opinions can lead to a happily ever after. It also is food for thought that if we all turned off technology or went into our own Dutch Lodge, we might all look up from our screens and see what we're missing right in front of us! “Christmas Unplugged” is a romantic novella. Emma has just broken up with her boyfriend, and puts the hard word on her sister to accompany her on the non-refundable romantic couples weekend she’d booked for Christmas. Casey agrees begrudgingly; she has a deadline coming up, but her work is computer based and so she’ll still be able to get it done. Except Emma omitted to mention that the lodge they’ll be going to is remote, and without electricity. And she didn’t know that Matt and Jake, two very “Christmas Unplugged” is a romantic novella. And she didn’t know that Matt and Jake, two very attractive brothers, would be at the lodge to help out their aunt and uncle. Now, if you can’t work out what happens next, then I’m really concerned for your intelligence. However, Nash tells this familiar story with verve, enthusiasm and humor. It’s a thoroughly enjoyable and diverting romp. It won’t tell you anything new, or make you think very deeply, but it’s not trying to. It’s trying to give you a few hours of fun. And it does that very well. The writing is lively, the characters vivid, the situation believable enough. If you’re a romance reader, you’ll enjoy this. If you only dip into the genre occasionally (as I do), then you’ll still enjoy this.

Thank you to Goodreads and Joy Nash for the giveaway that I won a copy through in late 2016. And I did purchase a Kindle copy. (for 99 cents, I couldn't pass it up) Christmas Unplugged is a story that can be read in one sitting and enjoy. This was a different read for me as there were no over the top Alpha men or women, just a few hardworking people looking for some fun over a few days. What I didn't like about the story? That there isn't more to the story between Casey and Matt. That's just me though, I love reading longer books and always want more, even from those. So why did I rate this as four stars? I didn't really connect to the characters like I tend to do when I read. Maybe it's because I am spoiled by much longer books, who knows? However, I would recommend this to anyone who's looking for a nice, wintery time read that they can read in one sitting.

This book could have had a higher rating, but it fell short at the end, like so many novellas do. I liked the characters, I liked the plot, I didn't like the ending. The ending felt unresolved. Quick conversations always leave me feeling like the story isn't over. At the very least a novella should have an epilogue, a glimpse without all the details to fill the space, if the objective is to keep the story short. Otherwise, it ends as though the author got bored, or didn't know how to show the ch This book could have had a higher rating, but it fell short at the end, like so many novellas do. What happens when a driven and completely plugged in woman gets bamboozled into spending Christmas weekend unplugged? Matt happens. He is handsome, woods wise, and interested in Casey. It was a decent read. I have definitely liked other stuff by this author better. I just really hated the self-centered sister and how the main character let her get away with it. I also get the romantic setting and the story was a shorty one so things needed to move along, but I just had trouble believing a woman who hadn't had sex in 3 years jumps into bed with a hot guy after knowing him for a day and taking a walk in the snow.

A quick little read. It's a fast paced romance that doesn't really let you get to know Emma and Jake, but focuses on Matt and Casey. It was fun to read and I enjoyed the quick read! I loved the characters and the story line. A weekend of no electronics, snowed in with a hot guy, all your needs taken care of by the lodge, who wouldn't love this situation? A great little holiday read!

Quick, but cute!! 3.5 stars I'm not really sure about these love-at-first-tumble books, but this story was pretty darn cute!! I always like when authors have more than one couple falling in love, and I enjoyed both sisters' romances, even if Emma's seemed shallower Casey's... :) Overall, I really quite liked it!!than

My only beef with this book was I wanted more. The story was great, the connection was amazing, but I really wanted the story to continue. I get that it ended when it did, but I would have loved to see more of the story. All in all a really great love story.

I am not usually a lover of chick lit but I am a sucker for anything Christmassy. I am glad I won Christmas Unplugged with Goodreads as it was the perfect holiday read, not too long, based around an unusual Christmas, it was sweet, romantic and sexy.
