    Shhhhh Ahhhhh

I really liked this one and it's taken me a bit of time to realize why. First, I was expecting a continuation of the aquatic combat against the lizards. I already wrote last review about how boring and monotonous combat is getting, even with the inclusion of the new psionic abilities. So, having the story cycle back to dealing with The Word has been great. Second, an Archon just straight up used Dune sex-mindfuckery to interrogate someone. CRAZY! Third, this reads more like detective novel than I really liked this one and it's taken me a bit of time to realize why. Third, this reads more like detective novel than military sci fi, even with the combat scenes included. It reminds me of Sherlock Holmes except there's more action while the clues are being gathered. So, it made me realize what the author is doing here. This isn't just a cyclical story structure. This author has been writing in different subgenres each book. That's so wild to me. Love it.
