Chickadee Chick sat in his nest playing with toys until he heard Lucky the dog barking which meant that Bobby and Joey were probably going to fill the bird feeders. He hears Bobby and Joey's excitement about going to live in the city with their Aunt for the summer. Oh no he's thinking who will fill the bird feeders while they are gone. He tells his Mother and the other birds what he heard about no one filling the feeders. They all start thinking they will have to find a different place to live and start checking out different places. Chickadee Chick being inquistive decides to try to fly to the feeders to see if he can find out any more information. His trip starts out great until a gust of wind makes him fall into a bush. Bobby and Joey saw this happen and place Chickadee back into his nest and after they do this he hears they have to hurry back to the house to show their cousin where the feeders and the bird seed is. She will be staying at their house while they are gone and will be taking care of the feeders. Chickadee is happy to hear that everything is going to be fine and their Summer will be great. This has activities at the end of the book like connect the numbers, a maze, etc. Something that kids will love. A great book. I got this for free in a Goodreads Giveaway.

Chickadee Chick is a rambunctious young chick who is curious but not cautious. He has a habit of leaving the nest even though his wings are not fully developed. When Chick overhears Bobby and Joey say that they are going to work in the city this summer, he spreads the news to the other birds. They fear they will have to move if no one fills the bird feeders. Chick's curiosity leads to his discovery that the boys' cousin, Emily, will be staying at the farm and she will be filling the feeders. Turns out that Chick saves the day, after all. this is a cute picture book. Unfortunately, in the kindle version the illustrations don't line up with the text and they are rather small. I would still recommend the book as a cute bedtime story for children ages three through six.

This is a cute little book featuring a little bird at the center of the story. It's the 1st in a series, 'The Bennett Farm Series'. The illustrations are simple & cute, & I think the story is one that little kids could follow & be interested in. I especially liked the 'fun activities' included at the end of the story/book! I think little kids would enjoy having this book read to them, or reading it themselves! This book is a retell basically of “Chicken Little the Sky is Falling”. A chick overheard the boys in the yard talking about being gone for the summer. He thinks that no one will fill the bird feeder while they are gone. Of course, this worries all the bird until they find out that someone else will fill the bird feeder. This is a cute books with good illustrations in it. I would recommend parents to read it to 3 and 4 year olds.

What a cute little story! I love the sense of humor that shines through, particularly in the illustrations of Chickadee Chick who is a bit of a clumsy troublemaker, but lovable as well. If you or your little ones love animals, and especially birds, this is a story sure to charm and entertain. The addition of the activities at the end is a great way to review the story and extend the fun of reading.

Sweet I won this in Goodreads First Reads giveaway! It was a fun and sweet read to share with my four year old at bed time. She enjoyed the illustrations and was singing Chickadee Chick's name throughout the house. Her favorite part was when he fell in to the lilac bush. She also found it hilarious that a bird could get grounded. I will be recommending it to my mom friends.

I loved this book! Story teaches to listen and get all the information before you go telling things. The watercolor paintings are perfect for the book -- Primitive would be the style I believe. The coloring page and games at the end are great, too. Thank you to Goodreads for the chance to win this wonderful children's book.

I received this book through the First Reads program. A cute book that helps to teach the lesson of not jumping to conclusions and getting the entire story before telling tales. I like the addition of the puzzles at the end.

Very cute story! Chickadee and the other birds on the farm teach that you should gather all information necessary before jumping to conclusions. The watercolor illustrations really add to the whimsical charm. The activities at the end are a nice touch, especially with their variety of informative and just for fun. Lovely children's book, thank you.

I'm a little torn between three and four stars for this one... I didn't think it was SUPER great. I felt it went a little too fast and was lacking on the introductions even for a kids book. I can see the valuable lesson to teach your kids in it, but the Kindle version wasn't set up great, either. It would have been better to have the words on the same pages with some of the pictures, because with the way it was, the pictures seemed kind of irrelevant when I got to them, so that I had to look at I'm a little torn between three and four stars for this one... It would have been better to have the words on the same pages with some of the pictures, because with the way it was, the pictures seemed kind of irrelevant when I got to them, so that I had to look at them for way to long, and a couple of times go back and reread to figure out what they were showing. I went ahead and gave four stars for the activities at the back of the book. Since I have the Kindle version, they're kind of useless to me, but I still think they're really neat. Note: I received this book for free through Goodreads Giveaways.

I received my copy of this book via Goodreads Giveaways. A lovely children's book in Spanish with bright and simple illustrations which teaches us not to jump to conclusions about things we might overhear before we have all the information. It also contains some puzzles at the end.

I am nine years old and I like this book because the drawings are so cute and so is the story about Chickadee Chick. The story is about how Chickadee finds out that there is going to be changes because Bobby and Joey who normally feed them are not going to any more because they are going to the city to work for their Aunt Lucy. But all the birds were worried because of Chickadee Chick’s news might mean they have to find a new place to live. But all the birds were worried because of Chickadee Chick’s news might mean they have to find a new place to live. I thought Bobby and Joey were nice helping Chickadee Chick and I thought it was funny how Chickadee Chick’s parents acted just like people parents when they couldn’t find where Chickadee Chick was. And what happens in the book at the end is really good and my favorite pictures are of Chickadee before, during and after flying on his own which is sooooooo funny and the picture of the Chickadee family flying at the end was soooooo cute. I think Chickadees are really cute and before the book I didn’t know what Chickadees or Cardinals were. There are also other types of birds in this book like Blue Jays, Finches and Doves which are all very very cute. Actually, one of my favorite things to do is make a bird feeder out of peanut butter and pine cones but my cat tried to get the birds so mommy had to put it up much much higher. So remember to put bird feeders in places cats can’t reach. There are also really cool activities at the end of this book that I printed out for me and my little brother during our vacation. My little brother liked the color by number and helping Chickadee through the maze best and my favorites were the crossword puzzle, connect the numbers and color by numbers, too. This book is lots of fun and I hope to read more Chickadee books very soon. .-. /'v'\ (/ \) ='="="===< |_|

I won this book in a Goodreads Giveaway. It was cute and has some activities in the back that a young child might enjoy. The main point of the story was a little silly but it is a children's book. I got the book for a friend with a young daughter so I will update the review after she lets me know what her daughter thinks of it.

This sort of reminded me of the old Hee Haw song that says I won't go around repeating gossip so you better be sure to get it right the first time. Apart from the seamless story line and illustration suitable for early readers, Chickadee Chick is filled with fun activities at the end of the book. These include a color by number crossword puzzle and more. Great for family time! Looking forward to another installment from the author.
